Christmas Caroling

What a beautiful 50°+ degree day the Lord blessed us with on December 2nd. Thirty Christmas carolers caravanned together to visit thirteen of the WEBC shut-ins and senior saints. Twenty children and young people of all ages joined in for the fun. I don't know who had more fun, the adults or the kids! What a joyous time we had together as we sang of our Savior, Lord, and Greatest Treasure, Jesus!

Joy to the World, Hark the Herald Angels Sing, What Child is This, and Angels we have Heard on High were just a few of the favorites that were sung. Several people requested Oh Holy Night as their favorite carol.

Our hearts and stomachs were full by the end after visiting with sweet people and eating special treats that they had prepared for us! We had the privilege of having Howard Westlund pray for the children that sat at his feet. They listened intently to his stories of God's great faithfulness and His provision for him and Lois over their lifetime.

Another highlight for the little ones was playing with some cute dogs at the homes and even seeing fish in Ann O'Connor's backyard! We ended our visits by praying for these dear friends and singing We wish you a Merry Christmas or another carol. We will always treasure the memories from this warm December day.

My Gram has been with the Lord for 2 1/2 years now and I miss her so. These verses from the Psalms were written on her celebration service pamphlet. May it be true of every one of us whose "...citizenship is in heaven, and from it we await a Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ." Philippians 3:20; "O God, You have taught me from my youth; and to this day I declare Your wondrous works. Now also when I am old and gray headed, O God, do not forsake me, until I declare Your strength to this generation, Your power to everyone who is to come." Psalm 71:17-18.

I'm so thankful for godly faithful saints who are declaring God's strength and His power to this generation! – Jodi
