Transferred to Heaven

Robert Glynn Jones, 88, was transferred to heaven May 9, 2017. He leaves Jettie Mae (nee Chambers), his wife of 64 years, and his daughter, Glenda (Michael) Jeter. A second daughter, Cynthia Hilsabeck, preceded him to heaven. He was grandfather to Joshua Jeter, Jacob Jeter, and David Hilsabeck, great-grandfather to Sara, and father-in-law to Bill Hilsabeck. He leaves one brother, nine other siblings having passed away, and many nieces and nephews. He was a great man of faith in God and love of his neighbor, as attested to by friends and family who spoke at the celebration of his life.

Grandson, Josh Jeter, stated in part, “My Grandfather was a man of God who strived to glorify Him in every aspect of his life. Everyone that he came in contact with knew what he believed and what he stood for. He loved my Grandma and his family with all his strength, soul, and mind. My Grandpa will be missed by everyone he came in contact with and our family will miss him tremendously and we are rejoicing that he is in the presence of our Lord Jesus Christ!”

Bob and Jettie Jones came to WEBC as members of Water’s Edge Church when the merger of WEC and WCBC was accomplished. They faithfully attended services and were immediately known for their friendliness to and care of others. We rejoiced with them over blessings and mourned with them over the loss of daughter, Cynthia Hilsabeck. The time came when they were physically unable to attend and we missed their smiles and greetings, but remained bonded to them through prayer. It’s a blessing to know that Bob has stepped out of the physical problems of recent years and into the joys of heaven.
