He Alone is Worthyplatform at Easter

Worship. It’s what we do as we come together to church on Sunday, we worship the triune God. But Easter services offer a different kind of worship as we focus with deep gratitude on the Lamb that was slain - slain for us, but now resurrected to prove He is God and has power over death! We come with a joy that our God is a living Lord. We know we will hear again of God’s great love for us as He sent His son to die and redeem us sinners for Himself.

This Easter, congregational songs attested to that great truth, Allelujah! The adult choir sang of it, lustily, joyfully! Soloist, Leslie Rodono, and Aaron Bauer confirmed it to our glad hearts – Jesus, Lamb of God, is risen indeed! And then Pastor Jayson began his Easter message from the book of Revelation, Chapter 5, looking forward to a day yet to come. He spoke of myriads and myriads and thousands and thousands of angels and the four living creatures, and the 24 elders around the throne of God. There was a sadness in that scene because no one could open the Book. But wait, here, in the center was the Lamb, the perfect Lamb, Jesus the Crucified and Resurrected One. He alone is worthy. There were tears in our eyes, but joy in our hearts – and awe – as we struggled to imagine that scene, that unimaginable scene.

And then, from Romans, Pastor Jayson reminded us that this exalted and worthy one was wounded for OUR transgressions, bruised for OUR iniquities and with His stripes WE are healed. The cross is empty, the grave is empty and the worthy One is worshipped in heaven. So we worship Him. Amen and amen.
